Private Covid-19 vaccination cost includes other charges, says Dr Noor Azmi

PUTRAJAYA: The cost of Covid-19 vaccination service at non-public services includes the worth of the vaccine and several other fees set by the non-public hospital and medical practitioners involved, says Deputy Health Minister Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali.

The fees included session charges within the Seventh Schedule below the Private Healthcare Facilities and Services Act 1998 (Act 586); service cost; and fees for consumable objects used when dealing with Covid-19 vaccine injections, he stated.

He stated that the Covid-19 ceiling worth was set below the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011 (Act 723) previous to this and personal medical practitioners should adjust to it, and it didn’t embody the dealing with of the vaccination service.

The authorities had set the utmost retail and wholesale costs for 2 CoronaVac model Covid-19 vaccine merchandise by Sinovac and Covilo by Sinopharm efficient final Jan 15.

The most retail worth for CoronaVac Suspension for Injection SARS-CoV-2 Vaccine (Vero Cell), Inactivated with registration numbers MAL21036010ARZ and MAL21046125ACSZ is RM77, whereas the wholesale worth is about at RM62 per dose.

For the vaccine, COVILO Suspension for Injection Covid-19 Vaccine (Vero Cell), Inactivated with registration quantity MAL21076098AZ, the utmost retail worth is RM77 and the wholesale worth RM62 per dosage.

“As such, the ultimate cost that needs to be paid by the patron encompasses the cost of Covid-19 vaccines, specifically, the utmost retail worth set, marketing consultant payment, service cost and the fees for consumable objects,” he stated in a press release on Thursday (June 2).
