Putin says Russia’s neighbours should not escalate tensions

MOSCOW (Reuters) – President Vladimir Putin urged Russia’s neighbours on Friday not to escalate tensions, eight days after Moscow despatched its forces into Ukraine.

“There aren’t any dangerous intentions in direction of our neighbours. And I might additionally advise them not to escalate the scenario, not to introduce any restrictions. We fulfil all our obligations and can proceed to fulfil them,” Putin stated in televised remarks.

“We do not see any want right here to worsen or worsen our relationships. And all our actions, in the event that they come up, they at all times come up solely in response to some unfriendly actions, actions towards the Russian Federation.”
