Quick take: Ta Win rises on first order from Aptiv

KUALA LUMPUR: Shares in Ta Win Holdings Bhd advanced in early trade after securing a contract for the supply of cables and automotive components for local automotive models.

The copper products manufacturer rose 2.86%, or 0.5 sen to 18 sen with 4.3 million shares traded. Year-to-date, it has risen a whopping 140%.

Ta Win-PA rose 4%, or 0.5 sen to 13 sen and Ta Win-WA fell 6.25%, or 0.5 sen to 7.5 sen.

Ta Win’s subsidiary Cyprium Wire Technology Sdn Bhd (CWT) has accepted a frame contract from Aptiv PLC group for the supply of a power and signal distribution system, high tension cable, battery cable, and other automotive components/parts for local automobile models in Malaysia.

The tenure of the frame contract is six months, from July 1, 2021, to Dec 31, 2021.

The contract will see CWT supplying Aptiv 13 types of components comprising power and signal distribution system, high tension cable, battery cable, and other automotive components and parts for local automobile models in Malaysia.

Ta Win managing director Datuk Seri Ngu Tieng Ung said with the new contract, the firm is entering a new area of growth particularly for market relevant products to cater to the growing automobile and electronic vehicle industries.
