KOTA KINABALU: The fast motion of villagers at Kg Labuan Senang in Semporna district saved a house from being razed by fireplace.
The blaze, which occurred at round 10pm on Tuesday (April 12), was believed to have been brought on by a mentally unsound man who unplugged the hose of a fuel cylinder.
His actions sparked a fireplace within the kitchen, and villagers who seen the smoke shortly put out the flames.
Sabah Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Misran Bisara mentioned they obtained a name at 10.54pm and a staff was dispatched.
“When our men arrived, the fire had already been extinguished,” he mentioned in an announcement Wednesday (April 13).
He mentioned they made positive there have been no extra harmful parts earlier than wrapping up the operation at 11.40pm.
The individual suspected of beginning the fireplace had been arrested by police, Misran mentioned.
No one was injured within the incident.
