Russia fines Twitter 10 million rbls for not deleting banned content, says court

MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russia is fining Twitter 10 million roubles ($136,173) for failing to delete content material the federal government deems unlawful, a Moscow court stated on Thursday, the most recent in a string of penalties in opposition to international expertise corporations.

Russia has slowed down the velocity of Twitter since March as a punitive measure for posts containing baby pornography, drug abuse info or calls for minors to commit suicide, communications regulator Roskomnadzor has stated.

Twitter, which did not instantly reply to a request for remark, denies permitting its platform for use to advertise unlawful behaviour.
