(Reuters) – Russia’s Pacific Fleet launched a week-long collection of exercises with more than 40 ships and as much as 20 plane collaborating, Russian information agencies quoted the defence ministry as saying.
The ministry assertion mentioned the exercises, happening from June 3-10, would contain, amongst different issues, “teams of ships collectively with naval aviation collaborating in search operations for (enemy) submarines”.
The exercises have been happening amid Russia’s three-month-old incursion into Ukraine, described by Moscow as a “particular army operation”. Ukraine lies 1000’s of kilometres to the west of the place the exercises are occurring within the Pacific.
