Russia’s top carmaker Avtovaz looks to secure chip supplies amid sanctions threat

IZHEVSK, Russia (Reuters) – Russia’s top carmaker Avtovaz, managed by France’s Renault, is trying to secure various supplies of digital chips in case U.S. sanctions curb deliveries to Moscow, the corporate’s chief government stated.

The White House has advised the U.S. chip business to be prepared for brand new restrictions on exports to Russia if Moscow assaults Ukraine, together with probably blocking Russia’s entry to international electronics supplies.

“Of course we’re additionally investigating prospects to discover alternate options within the case of sanctions,” Nicolas Maure, CEO of Avtovaz, advised reporters.
