Rwanda asylum plan: Justin Welby raises ‘serious ethical questions’


The Archbishop of Canterbury has used his Easter sermon to sentence the federal government’s plans to ship asylum seekers within the UK to Rwanda.

Justin Welby advised the congregation at Canterbury Cathedral that “subcontracting out our tasks” goes in opposition to Christian values.

“As a coverage it privileges the wealthy and the sturdy,” he mentioned.
