Sarawak polls: Results for Mulu seat delayed, says EC chairman

KUCHING: Results for the Mulu seat have been delayed attributable to opposed climate situations, says Datuk Abdul Ghani Salleh (pic).

The Election Commision chairman stated dangerous climate had affected the vote tallying course of.

He stated the EC had considered the protection of election staff who’ve to make use of helicopters to fly poll bins to the official vote tallying centre for Mulu.

“Land connectivity has also been cut off,” he stated.

“Therefore the results for Mulu will be announced as soon as the EC has received the ballot boxes,” he added.

As of 10.45pm on Dec 18, the official election outcomes have been introduced for 81 seats, with Gabungan Parti Sarawak taking 75 seats, Parti Sarawak Bersatu successful 4 and DAP taking two.
