Single network maintained for 5G, DNB majority stake to be sold

PETALING JAYA: Up to a 70% stake in Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB), the government-owned entity to deploy the 5G network, will be supplied to cellular network operators (MNOs) reminiscent of Maxis, Digi, Celcom and U Mobile.

The Finance Ministry will personal a “golden share” and the remaining 30% fairness curiosity in DNB.

After a number of delays, the choice was collectively introduced on Wednesday by Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz and Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa, alongside the choice to preserve Malaysia’s single wholesale network (SWN) mannequin for the implementation of 5G.
