(Reuters) – Wigan Athletic striker Charlie Wyke thanked supervisor Leam Richardson for performing CPR on him after he suffered a cardiac arrest in coaching final month.
Wyke was stabilised by supervisor Richardson and membership physician Jonathan Tobin following his collapse in coaching on Nov. 22. He was taken to the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary in Wigan after which transferred to the Liverpool Coronary heart and Chest Hospital.
League One (third-tier) membership Wigan issued a press release saying Wyke had left hospital on Thursday, with an implantable defibrillator fitted as a part of a medical process.
“I really feel it is vital to inform my story to our supporters and to the broader public, as a result of my life has been saved by the actions of the gaffer (Richardson) and the membership physician Jonathan Tobin, and my story might effectively save one other life,” Wyke mentioned.
“Fortunately, just some weeks in the past, the coaching floor employees had acquired CPR coaching, which has clearly confirmed to be life-saving with the way in which through which the gaffer reacted to my collapse and initiated the CPR on the coaching pitch.
