Sri Lanka prime minister summons emergency party leaders meeting after street unrest


COLOMBO (Reuters) – Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister on Saturday summoned an emergency meeting of political party leaders after protesters stormed the president’s home within the industrial capital Colombo amid rising anger over the federal government’s dealing with of an financial disaster.

Ranil Wickremesinghe additionally requested the speaker to summon parliament, an announcement from the prime minister’s workplace stated.
