Suspect nabbed for filming teen in toilet

PETALING JAYA: A teen and several other safety guards stopped a suspect from working away after he allegedly filmed her in the toilet.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid, in an announcement Tuesday (Jan 11), mentioned the incident occurred on Jan 10 at Centre Point.

“The 14-year-old sufferer noticed the suspect holding a telephone from a window that was between the female and male bathrooms.

She then confronted the person, asking if he had filmed her, and he then tried to flee.

“She was pushed in the course of the man’s escape however she managed to throw her telephone on the suspect, hitting him. Security guards then got here to restrain the suspect,” he mentioned.

The police had been then notified and a patrol crew was despatched to the scene to evaluate the state of affairs.

ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin mentioned the safety guards handed over the suspect to the police at round 7.15pm.

“His garments had been torn when he was handed over to the police. The suspect confessed to the police and the handphone, with the recording intact, has been seized,” he mentioned.
