Taiwan pork, LNG referendums fail on low turnout

TAIPEI (Reuters) – Two main referendums in Taiwan on whether or not to ban the import of pork containing leanness-enhancing additive and whether or not to resite a brand new LNG terminal each failed on Saturday as not sufficient voters confirmed as much as validate the end result.

According to a vote rely by the official Central News Agency, extra folks voted towards the proposals than for them. But with the edge of 5 million votes being wanted to both move or reject the proposals not being met, the end result was not thought-about legitimate beneath Taiwan’s election legal guidelines.
