TNB issues Sukuk Wakalah worth RM4bil

KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has issued a RM4 billion in nominal worth Islamic Medium-Term Notes (IMTN), also called Sukuk Wakalah, underneath an IMTN programme of as much as RM10 billion.

In a submitting with Bursa Malaysia right now, it mentioned the Sukuk Wakalah, the third issuance in its IMTN programme, was issued in 5 tranches.

It mentioned the issuance measurement for tranche 1 was RM1.12 billion for seven years with a distribution fee of 4.73 per cent every year (pa), tranche 2 has the issuance measurement of RM300 million for 10 years with a distribution fee of 4.84 per cent pa and the issuance measurement for tranche 3 was RM880 million for 15 years with a distribution fee of 5.23 per cent p a.

The utility large mentioned tranche 4 has the issuance measurement of RM500 million for 20 years with a distribution fee of 5.36 per cent p a and the issuance measurement for tranche 5 was RM1.2 billion for 25 years with a distribution fee of 5.57 per cent p a.

“Upon the issuance of the RM4 billion Sukuk Wakalah, TNB’s consolidated borrowings will enhance by RM4 billion.

“The RM4 billion Sukuk Wakalah issuance won’t have materials influence on the earnings, earnings per share (EPS) and internet belongings per share of TNB for the present monetary yr,” it mentioned.

CIMB Investment Bank Bhd and Maybank Investment Bank Bhd had been the joint principal advisers, joint lead arrangers and joint lead managers/joint bookrunners for the RM4 billion Sukuk Wakalah. – Bernama
