Twenty-seven localities in Sabah among others to be placed under EMCO

PUTRAJAYA: Twenty-seven localities in Sabah are among areas that will be placed under enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from July 29.

In Kota Kinabalu, 11 localities will be placed under lockdown.

The affected areas are Bandar Sierra; Kampung Unggun; Kampung Kalasan; Lorong Cina 1, 2 and 3; Kampung Tebobon; Plaza Kingfisher; Polytechnic Commercial Centre; Kampung Pulau Penampang; Bandaran Segama; Taman Bukit Setia and Taman Putra Jaya.

In Penampang, the EMCO will involve eight localities, namely Country Heights Phase One, Cyber City Phase One, Kampung Nabangkung, Kampung Ramayah, Taman Vista Kiranau, Kampung Sarapung Kolopis, Vista Minitod and Kampung Tuunon.

Four localities in Beaufort will also be placed under EMCO, namely Kampung Lumadan, Kampung Kebulu Petani, Kampung Beaufort Selatan and Taman Arjuna.

Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said three areas in Tawau, namely Kampung Blok 31, Kampung Tanjung Batu Darat and Kampung Darat Inderabasah are also affected.

In Kinabatangan, the lockdown will be enforced on the Ladang Tibanau housing area.

Hishammuddin said that Ladang Kerilla in Tanah Merah, Kelantan as well as a workers hostel at the Taman Bukit Perdana construction site in Kluang, Johor will also be affected.

Also to be placed under EMCO is Kampung Pertanian and Kampung Separa in Kulai Johor.

In Sarawak, three localities in Kuching will be affected. They are Kampung Jawa Batu 12, Kampung Bumbok and Kampung Telaga Air, while in Pahang, it will involve Felda Jengka 7 in Maran.

“These localities will be placed under EMCO for 14 days until August 11. Standard operating procedure for areas placed under the order are available on the National Security Council website,” he said on Tuesday (July 27).
