ALOR SETAR: Two men who used the lorry they had been in to crash into a police vehicle during an escape try had been arrested in Kampung Belat, Kubur Panjang close to Pendang, on Tuesday (Jan 4).

Kedah police chief Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat stated that previous to the incident, the 2 suspects, who had been in a lorry, had been being chased by a police staff from Gerik, Perak earlier than it entered Baling, Sik after which Pendang.

“Police began chasing the 2 suspects of their 20s at 5.45am and once they reached Kampung Belat, the suspects crashed their lorry into a police automotive. Following that, police fired a number of photographs in self-defence.

“Police, who managed to arrest the 2 suspects a number of hours later, carried out an extra inspection and located 0.34 grams of crystal slabs and powder believed to be syabu on the suspects,” he stated in a press release on Tuesday.

Kamarul Zaman stated a test on the lorry discovered that the vehicle was reported lacking in Kepala Batas beforehand.
