KYIV (Reuters) – Ukraine’s Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov stated on Sunday the nation had acquired a second consignment of weapons from the United States as half of defensive support totalling $200 million.

Washington has stated it will proceed to help Ukraine amid considerations in Kyiv and amongst its Western allies over tens of 1000’s of Russian troops amassed on its border. Russia denies planning a navy offensive.

“The second fowl in Kyiv! More than 80 tons of weapons to strengthen Ukraine’s protection capabilities from our pals in the USA! And this isn’t the tip,” Reznikov wrote on Twitter.

About 90 tonnes of “deadly safety help,” together with ammunition, from the package deal authorised by the U.S. in December arrived in the Ukrainian capital on Saturday.
