PETALING JAYA: Volunteers might be deployed to monitor prices at markets to prevent any exploitation, says the Youth and Sports Ministry.
Its minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu and Malaysian Youth Council (MYC) president Mohd Izzat Afifi Abd Hamid, in a joint assertion, stated this was according to the federal government’s issuing of subsidies for chosen meals necessities.
Any discrepancies detected by the volunteers might be reported instantly to the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry.
“The ministry is assured that this strategic partnership with the MYC will mobilise the youths to assist the federal government in ensuring all shopper rights are protected and maintained,” they stated.
