The Queen’s sister Princess Margaret, who died in 2002, was cremated and her ashes have been initially positioned in the Royal Vault of St George’s Chapel, earlier than being moved to the George VI memorial chapel along with her mother and father’ coffins when the Queen Mother died a couple of weeks later.
