YAOUNDE (Reuters) – At least 16 folks died and eight others had been injured early on Sunday in a fire that engulfed an upmarket nightclub in Cameroon’s capital Yaounde, the federal government stated.
“The incident was brought on by the explosion fireworks normally used in the nightclub,” it stated in an announcement, including that these had sparked a fire on the ceiling which triggered additional explosions and panic in the evening membership.
