Azam Baki appointed as member of IACA Board of Governors

PUTRAJAYA (Bernama): Malaysian Anti-Corruption Fee (MACC) chief commissioner Datuk Seri Azam Baki has been appointed as a member of the Worldwide Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) Board of Governors (BoG) for the 12 months 2021-2024.

The Nationwide Centre for Governance, Integrity and Anti-corruption (GIACC) stated in a press release on Thursday (Oct 28) that the appointment was made on the resumed tenth session of the Meeting of the Events of the IACA in Vienna, Austria, on Wednesday (Oct 27).

In line with the GIACC, Azam’s appointment was introduced at a range session attended by Centre director-general Datuk Seri Mohd Sallehhuddin Hassan, who represented Malaysia on the assembly.

Mohd Sallehhuddin, who delivered a speech on behalf of Malaysia, stated the federal government was dedicated and supported IACA in its tutorial programmes.

Malaysia was one of many first international locations to signal the IACA Institution Settlement and ratified the IACA Institution Settlement as a world organisation in November 2011.

“I consider and am assured that with this choice, Azam will be capable to share his information and expertise in preventing corruption and implementing anti-corruption legal guidelines,” stated Mohd Sallehhuddin.
