The viral video of a car narrowly avoiding a head-on collision with a Toyota Hilux, which was overtaking a lorry on a single-lane highway with double strains, has caught the eye of the police.
As the incident occurred on the backroads of the Janda Baik space, it’s underneath the jurisdiction of the Bentong police, and Bentong police chief Zaiham bin Mohd Kahar has launched an announcement saying that the visitors investigation and enforcement division of IPD Bentong has began efforts to trace down the Hilux driver, and will call him in for an announcement.
If discovered responsible, the Hilux driver could be issued a saman for overtaking on a double-line highway underneath Rule 12(3)(A), with a wonderful not exceeding RM2,000 or a jail sentence not exceeding six months.
