ALOR GAJAH: A lady has lodged a report towards a restaurant employee after discovering out he lied to her by posing as a policeman and failing to return money he borrowed from her.

Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Arshad Abu stated the 53-year-old lady, who works as a cleaner, had befriended the 30-year-old man by Facebook in July final yr and he confirmed a faux police authority card and face masks with a “Polis Di-Raja Malaysia” emblem to persuade her.

“We are still investigating the relationship of the two and whether the woman only made a police report after she was jilted by the suspect,” he stated yesterday.

The lady stated she had lent the suspect money on a number of events, stated Supt Arshad.

“The woman claimed the suspect had failed to settle a loan of RM8,000 before she decided to lodge a police report at Masjid Tanah police station,” he added.

Supt Arshad stated his males, performing on the report lodged, intercepted the suspect at a junction in Masjid Tanah right here earlier than arresting him and confiscating a number of objects together with the face masks with the police emblem.

He stated the suspect has been remanded to help within the investigation beneath Section 170 of the Penal Code for pretending to be a public servant.
