KUALA LUMPUR: An Umno Youth delegate says he would not have been chosen as a candidate within the Melaka election if celebration president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had a vindictive nature.
“One day, I made a Facebook publish about ‘dinosaurs’ in politics. It had nothing to do with the president however I heard he was damage by what I mentioned,” mentioned Dr Muhammad Akmal Saleh, including that Umno Youth was very vocal towards Ahmad Zahid post-GE14.
“If he was vindictive, I imagine I would not have been chosen as a candidate within the Melaka polls and Umno youth would not have gotten as many seats,” he informed delegates on the second day of the Umno normal meeting on Saturday (March 19).
“I have since apologised to the president,” he mentioned.
In his presidential deal with on Friday, Ahmad Zahid mentioned that he’s not vindictive and said that “revenge-based motion” would not be taken towards anybody if Barisan Nasional wins GE15.
