JKJAV: 525,111 Covid-19 vaccine jabs given on Tuesday (Aug 17), total now at 28,837,742

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia administered 525,111 Covid-19 vaccine doses on Tuesday (Aug 17), says the Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV).

In a series of tweets on Wednesday (Aug 18), JKJAV said 184,972 people received their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, while 340,139 individuals received their second dose and completed the inoculation.

Johor administered the most first doses with 33,092 jabs given, followed by Sabah (30,602), Terengganu (19,825) and Penang (14,926).

For second doses, Selangor led the way with 85,192 jabs, followed by Kuala Lumpur (54,230), Johor (39,474) and Sabah (28,342).

JKJAV said that since the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme had begun, a total of 28,827,742 Covid-19 vaccine doses had been administered in the country.

It added that so far, 74.5% of the adult population had received at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccination, while 48.7% of the adult population had received both doses and completed their inoculations.
