GEORGE TOWN: Unlawful medicine price RM134,800 sure for 68,842 addicts had been stopped after the arrest of three suspects on the mainland.

Penang Narcotics Crime Investigations Division chief Asst Comm Mustafa Kamal Gani Abdullah stated many of the medicine had been discovered saved in a flat in Bukit Mertajam after a skillful interrogation of the suspects aged between 38 and 47 years on Tuesday.

The primary arrest was made in Permatang Pauh the place two male suspects had been detained.

Seized from them had been 10 packets of heroin weighing 171.35g price RM2,296 in addition to 9 packets of methamphetamine weighing 13.25g price RM1,325 and 9 Erimin5 capsules weighing 2.42g price RM135.

They then led police to Bukit Tengah, the place a second arrest was made. One other male suspect was detained and heroin weighing 457g price RM6,124 was seized.

“Additional investigation then led us to raid a rented flat unit in Bukit Mertajam the place 9 packets of heroin weighing 4.12kg price RM55,275 and two slabs of heroin base weighing 750g price RM69,645 had been discovered saved.

“We consider the heroin base, heroin and methamphetamine had been headed for the native market. The syndicate has been energetic since June.

“If undetected, the medicine would have fed the dependancy of 68,842 addicts,” stated ACP Mustafa on the state contingent police headquarters in Penang Highway yesterday.
