Motorsport: Motor racing-Ferrari lodge protest about Red Bull’s Monaco winner Perez and Verstappen

MONACO (Reuters) – Ferrari lodged a protest about race winner Sergio Perez and Formula One championship chief Max Verstappen on Sunday after the Red Bull drivers completed first and third respectively within the showcase Monaco Grand Prix.

Race stewards stated in an announcement that each drivers have been accused of allegedly failing to obey pit-lane exit guidelines after a pitstop in the course of the race.

Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc completed second and fourth, with the latter slipping 9 factors behind Verstappen.

A Red Bull consultant was ordered to report back to the stewards.

The race director’s notes state that drivers should maintain to the correct of the stable yellow line on the pit exit when leaving the pits and keep to the correct of the road till it finishes after flip one.

“We consider there was a transparent breach of the laws by the 2 Red Bulls happening the yellow line exiting the pits,” Ferrari staff boss Mattia Binotto advised Sky Sports tv.

Red Bull staff boss Christian Horner advised reporters that “all of the footage we’ve seen we’ve been content material with”.
