PETALING JAYA: The Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) has not slowed down in its corporate social responsibility programme despite the Covid-19 pandemic.

On Saturday (Sept 11), a total of 200 food baskets were dropped off at the Klang constituency People’s Welfare and Development Council’s (Mayang) office at Balai Raya Kampung Idaman in Port Klang.

“We understand the grievances of the communities affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and we stand with the community during these difficult times,” it said in a statement on Saturday (Sept 11).

PKFZ chairman Datuk Lawrence Low said it was only right for PKFZ to be compassionate and help out in these troubling times, when and where possible.

“We hope the contribution would help the hospital and its frontliners in their efforts to address the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Together in PKFZ, we will continue to help the community by bringing the spirit of #KeluargaMalaysia. We face challenges together, we win together,” said Low.

During an earlier programme in July, PKFZ together with the Port Klang Authority (PKA) donated several air conditioning units to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR) in Klang.

PKFZ director Datuk Nasarruddin M. Zin and PKA board member Roslee Hamid presented nine units of 2.5hp and 2hp units to the vaccination centre facility at the hospital.

Hospital director Dr Zulkarnain Mohd Rawi received the items.
