PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin arrived at Istana Negara at 12.23pm Monday (Aug 16).

He arrived in a black Toyota Vellfire, accompanied by police escorts.

As his motorcade approached the Palace’s Gate 1, the Pagoh MP wound down his windows to wave at media personnel who had been staked out there since as early as 8am Monday morning

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah is expected to have an audience with the Pagoh MP, where it is widely expected that Muhyiddin will tender his resignation as prime minister.

Earlier, Muhyiddin chaired a special meeting of the Cabinet at the Prime Minister’s Office in Putrajaya.

Attorney General Tan Sri Idrus Harun and Election Commission chairman Datuk Abdul Ghani Salleh had arrived at the Palace earlier at 10.48am and 10.50am Monday, respectively.

Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani and his Deputy Datuk Seri Mazlan Lajim were also seen entering the Palace grounds at 11.17am and 11.26am, respectively.
